Green energy
A contract with the municipal utility of a large German city was signed to enable this achievement. The contract guarantees 100% green energy with the acquisition of RECS-certificates. This "Renewable Energy Certificate System" ensures, that only the actual produced amount of green energy is allowed to be sold. As Rudi Schwaiger, company owner noted:
"The use of green energy is and was an important part of our sustainability concept. We searched for a powerful partner and signed the supply contract only after verifying the documents. We are very pleased, that our energy is completely produced by hydropower."
Even though only a small percentage of German companies have decided to take this step, the employees of BRUNNER are convinced to have taken the right measures. The intention is to set a good example and to encourage other companies to join the green evolution.
Another Step to a careful and responsible use of energy is Monitoring. Monitoring machines and devices is, along with avoiding energy consumption, a very effective controlling tool. Current peaks are avoided and the energy is used more effectively. This idea is also brought to attention of other companies by BRUNNER. To present the BRUNNER concept of sustainable energy and resource management, Mr Schwaiger already gave lectures to the north Bavarian plastics industry association and several committees.
The district of Ebersberg has honoured the efforts by the Hans Brunner GmbH in optimizing energy efficiency with the Energy Award 2010. The course has been set, to reach this top position again in 2012. 90min
